What's the Tea on Juneteenth? ERIE's African American Affinity Network celebration was nothing short of spectacular! We gathered to honor the significance of Juneteenth and learn about hibiscus tea's historical role in healing. Our ME/WE team provided valuable information on resources available, the DJ kept us moving and grooving while the food trucks kept us well fed. Today is Juneteenth, a historic day commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States. We celebrate and reflect on the Black experience in America and reflect on the work we still need to do to support freedom and equality. Juneteenth is a day to honor the past and how far we have come, recognize the present and where we need growth, and to do our part to change the future.
