A look at each of the homicides that have taken place in Allegheny County in 2023:

Jan. 2: Justin McIntire

Brackenridge police Chief Justin Clark McIntire, 46, was fatally shot during a manhunt in a confrontation with Aaron Lamont Swan Jr., 28. Swan was later fatally shot by police in Pittsburgh’s Homewood-Brushton neighborhood.

Jan. 2: Nekye Smith

Nekye Smith, 20, of Pitcairn died at an area hospital after being shot in the head in Pitcairn. Daniel Kelly, 21, of Clairton was arrested and faces a criminal homicide charge.

Jan. 5: Tarae Washington

Tarae C. Washington, 47, of Pittsburgh was found fatally stabbed in her South Side Slopes residence. Her estranged husband, William Fitzgerald, 50, was arrested Jan. 9 in West Virginia and faces a criminal homicide charge.

Jan. 6: Jade Baker-Wright

Jade Baker-Wright, 20, of Pitcairn died from multiple gunshot wounds in a Pitcairn apartment. Andre Johnson, 21, also died from gunshot wounds and the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office ruled his death a suicide.

Jan. 8: Jacob Dienert

Jacob Dienert, 21, was found fatally shot in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood after what police are calling a robbery over $190 in marijuana. Maurice Nelson, 20, and Amier Windsor, 17, have been charged with criminal homicide.

Jan. 15: Aceyn Ausbrook

Aceyn Ausbrook, 19, of Monroeville died overnight at an area hospital after he was found shot in Monroeville.

Jan. 16: Chase Jones

Chase Jones, 13, of Clairton was fatally shot by another teen, according to police. LaQuan Rich-Cabbagestalk, 13, has been charged with homicide.

Jan. 17: Marinus Iwuchukwu

Marinus Chijioke Iwuchukwu, 59, of Wilkins Township suffered lacerations and died in what Allegheny County Police believe to be a murder-suicide. Charte Dunn, 50, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the incident, according to police.

Jan. 19: Eugene Nance

Eugene Nance, 23, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after a midday shooting in Downtown Pittsburgh. Erique Collington, 18, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide. Jayshon Martin, 18, of Knoxville has also been charged with criminal homicide in the incident.

Jan. 22: Paul Sakal

Paul J. Sakal, 43, of Pittsburgh died after being shot in the face in a Hill District apartment.

Jan. 26: Kenneth Lennex

Kenneth A. Lennex, 34, of Dravosburg was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the head in a wooded area of Pittsburgh’s Elliott neighborhood. He had been reported missing a day earlier. Le’Juane Powell, 29, of Pittsburgh has been arrested and is facing a homicide charge. Deonte Kidd, 28, of Perry South was arrested, facing several charges in connection with Lennex’s death.

Jan. 27: Markeyta Daniels

Markeyta Daniels, 24, of Pittsburgh’s North Side was found unresponsive in a Bedford Dwellings residence, and the county medical examiner’s office ruled the death a homicide.

Feb. 5: Rasul Aquil Jr.

Rasul Abdullah Aquil Jr., 23, of Pittsburgh was found in a car with a gunshot wound to the head. He later died at Allegheny General Hospital. Aaron Smith, 29, of Pittsburgh has been charged with criminal homicide.

Feb. 6: Sean Sluganski

Sean Sluganski, a McKeesport police officer, was shot and killed while responding to a mental health check request. Johnathan Jermia Morris, 31, of McKeesport has been charged with homicide by Allegheny County Police. The Allegheny County District Attorney’s office said it will seek the death penalty.

Feb. 7: Tre’Sean Jackson

Tre’Sean Jackson, 15, of Pittsburgh, a student at Carrick High School, was found shot in the chest in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood and later died at an area hospital.

Feb. 9: Gerard Porter

Gerard Porter, 47, of McKeesport was killed in a shooting in Northview Heights.

Feb. 12: Daniel Hurley

Daniel Richard Hurley, 40, was found shot in Wilkinsburg and transported to a local hospital where he died.

Feb. 13: Damonte Hardrick

Damonte Hardrick, 17, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head in a house across the street from Carrick High School. Nigel Thompson, 14, of Carrick has been arrested on criminal homicide charges, with police saying he shed his GPS ankle monitor after the shooting.

Feb. 15: Megan & Lyla Campbell

Police found Megan J. Campbell, 39, and her daughter, Lyla Campbell, 9, shot to death inside a Swissvale apartment, and they’re investigating the case as a double homicide. Kareef Antonio George Easington, 35, who lived with the victims, has been arrested and charged with two counts of criminal homicide.

Feb. 17: Antony Sayles

Antony Sayles, 59, of McKeesport was found shot to death in a home in McKeesport.

Feb. 21: India Christian

India Christian, 45, of Monroeville died at Forbes Hospital from a gunshot wound to the chest, in what police believe was a murder-suicide. Her husband, Corey Christian, 48, was found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in their home.

Feb. 28: Rosemary Washington

Rosemary Washington, 62, of Penn Hills was found shot to death in her home, along with her husband, Thomas Washington Sr., 63. Police are saying it’s believed to be a murder-suicide, with the county medical examiner’s office ruling her death a homicide.

March 1: Robert Joyner

Robert Joyner, 47, of Pittsburgh died at an area hospital after being found shot on Versailles Avenue in McKeesport. Sanchez Spence, 18, of McKeesport has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

March 1: Jerred Duncan

Jerred Micahel Duncan, 22, of Turtle Creek died after being shot in the trunk in an incident at a McKeesport housing complex.

March 1: Jordan Eubanks

Jordan Eubanks, 30, of McKeesport died at UPMC Mercy after a shooting at a McKeesport housing complex. Davon Flewellen-Belton, 18, of McKeesport faces weapon charges after police said he tried to shoot a man who had pulled a gun on the teen’s father.

March 1: Tamont Williams-Brown

Tamont Terale Williams Brown, 35, of Pittsburgh was found dead after being shot several times in the city’s Arlington Heights neighborhood. Leroy Grace, 31, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

March 3: Robert Moore

Robert Moore, 58, of McKeesport died at UPMC McKeesport Hospital after being found suffering from gunshot wounds.

March 12: Julius Robinson

Julius Lamar Robinson, 42, of Pittsburgh died after being found shot multiple times in a parking lot of a Penn Hills apartment building.

March 13: Richard Derkach

Richard William Derkach, 34, of Pittsburgh was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in a vehicle on Banksville Road and died at Allegheny General Hospital. Connor Cusick Makstutis, 23, of Beechview has been charged with homicide.

March 13: Rueben Kelley

Rueben Kelley, 30, of Clairton died after being shot in a residence in Clairton.

Damion Nance, 46, was shot and killed in Homewood.

Janell Ross, 47, was shot and killed in Homewood.

March 26: Alexander Yerkey

Alexander Yerkey, 26, of Bethel Park died after being shot in the head in Bloomfield. Lukas Kislak, 33, of Braddock has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

April 10: Brentell Clark

Brentell Lewmont Clark, 24, of Pittsburgh was found dead with a gunshot wound inside an abandoned home in Homewood.

April 19: Blakley Carter

Blakley D. Carter, 40, of Pittsburgh died at Mercy Hospital, with the injuries originally occurring in an incident on June 13, 2007.

April 23: Jason Steiner

Jason J. Steiner, 48, of Jefferson Hills died after being shot during an altercation between neighbors in Jefferson Hills, according to police. Two other people were critically injured.

April 24: Jaylen Martin

Jaylen J. Martin, 24, of Pittsburgh died at an area hospital after being shot in Homewood.

May 1: Donte Glover

Donte Lee Glover, 36, was found fatally shot in the head and wrapped inside plastic in a McKeesport apartment. Lindsey Jackson, 37, is facing homicide charges.

May 5: Malik Sanders

Malik Sanders, 50, of Braddock was found shot to death inside an apartment building.

May 6: Dominic Sanner

Dominic Sanner, 16, of West Mifflin was found fatally shot between two homes in Homestead.

May 13: Regis Bonner

Regis Bonner, 86, of Mt. Lebanon was found dead in a home by family members, and the medical examiner’s office ruled his death a homicide from blunt force trauma to the head.

May 17: Sir Morgan

Sir Morgan, 18, of Pittsburgh was fatally shot in a home invasion in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood.

May 18: Ryan Dunnaway

Ryan Marquise Dunnaway, 27, of Irwin was fatally shot after a man broke into an apartment, according to police. Dwight Baker, 46, of the Hill District has been charged with homicide.

May 24: Derrick Harris

Derrick Harris, 16, was shot and killed by another student outside Oliver Citywide Academy in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood, police said. Jamier Perry, 15, has been charged with criminal homicide in the incident.

May 24: Jerry Gardner

The body of Jerry David Gardner, 30, of Homestead was found wrapped in a tarp in a wooded area in Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood. The county medical examiner said Gardner died from multiple gunshot wounds.

May 26: Calvin Baldridge

Calvin Baldridge, 55, of North Oakland died after being shot in an argument at Chief’s Cafe in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood.

May 26: Jamie Jones

Jamie J. Jones, 31, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after being shot in Swissvale. Bryan Perkins-Jiles, 36, of Carrick has been charged with criminal homicide in the shooting.

May 27: Richard Coward

Richard Coward, 39, of McCandless was found fatally shot in a McCandless apartment complex.

May 28: Michael Tomlin

Michael Anthony Tomlin, 32, of Verona died after being shot in Wilkinsburg. Police arrested Isaiah Thornton, 34, of North Braddock and charged him with criminal homicide in what they described as a drug deal that ended in murder.

June 4: Thomas Baczynski

Thomas Baczynski, 26, of Tarentum died at a hospital after being stabbed during an altercation in Tarentum.

June 13: Tanika Paul

Tanika L. Paul, 29, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after being shot in Pittsburgh’s West Oakland neighborhood. Two other people were injured in the shooting.

June 22: Misty Lack

Misty Lack, 39, of McKeesport died after being struck by a car. Brandon Pendleton of Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

June 25: Dashawn Rankin

Dashawn L. Rankin, 32, was shot in the back while riding his bicycle on Pittsburgh’s North Side and died at a nearby hospital. Medford Taylor, 56, was arrested in January 2024 after being charged with homicide in September 2023.

Earl Jordan, 24, was shot in the neck and died in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood.

Devon Alexander, 33, died after being fatally shot in the South Side Flats.

Darkale Bonner, 35, of Pittsburgh died from a gunshot wound to the head and another woman was injured, with witnesses telling police the shooting happened after an altercation.

Erica Vail, 43, of Braddock died after being shot during a neighborhood dispute that turned into an altercation.

Brandon Thomas, 17, of Pittsburgh died after being stabbed in the chest in Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park.

Andrew Lavaughn Smith, 17, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after being found shot in a gas station parking.

July 30: Cozell McQueen

Cozell Christopher McQueen, 39, of Gary, Indiana, was fatally stabbed aboard a Greyhound bus by a fellow passenger just outside Pittsburgh. Javon Garrett, 18, of Detroit has been charged with criminal homicide.

July 30: Raymond Harris

Raymond Harris, 25, of Whitaker died from multiple stab wounds from an incident on Cherry Street in Whitaker.

Aug. 18: Isaac Love

Isaac Love, 31, of Homestead died at a local hospital after being shot in Munhall.

Carl J. Meyers, 21, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy two days after being shot in Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood.

James Davenport, 49, of Pittsburgh died after being shot in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood.

Aug. 26: Victor Musgrove

Victor Musgrove, 51, of Pittsburgh died at a local hospital after being discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest in a crashed vehicle in Clairton. Edwin Wiley-Biggs, 42, of Clairton was charged with criminal homicide after being arrested after a standoff on Sept. 7 in McKeesport.

Nazir Parker, 17, of Braddock, a student at Woodland Hills High School, was found with fatal gunshot wounds in Braddock. Jerell Rockymore, 16, has been charged with criminal homicide.

Rimel Lamour Williamson, 17, of Braddock, a student at Woodland Hills High School, was found with fatal gunshot wounds in Braddock. Jerrell Rockymore, 16, has been charged with criminal homicide.

Lonnie Latham III, 23, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after being shot in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Reginald Hall, 48, of McKeesport died at UPMC McKeesport after being shot in the city. Jeffrey Robinson, 53, has been charged with criminal homicide.

Mohamed Hussein, 15, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after being shot in the city’s Allentown neighborhood.

Allen Jerrone Stevens, 37, died at UPMC Presbyterian after being shot in the chest in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood. Trevon Taylor, 20, of Pittsburgh was charged with criminal homicide.

Davondre Bruce, 27, of Homestead died at a local hospital after being shot in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood.

Robert Lee Freeman Jr., 33, of Pittsburgh died from a gunshot wound to the head in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.

Cameron Blue-Gray, 16, of Pittsburgh died at UPMC Mercy after being found with a gunshot wound to the chest in the Hill District.

Myles Gore-White, 31, of Pittsburgh was found shot to death in a vehicle in Penn Hills.

Oct. 22: Joseph Sees

Joseph Sees Jr., 29, of Pittsburgh was found fatally shot outside his home. Joshua James Short, 21, a former neighbor, has been charged with criminal homicide and confessed, according to police.

Heaven Budd, 21, of Pittsburgh died at a local hospital after being found shot in Homewood South.

Oct. 26: Sheldon Zevola

Sheldon Zevola, 31, of North Versailles was found fatally shot in a North Versailles apartment. His brother, Andrew Zevola, 36, of North Versailles has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

Eric Stephens, 38, of McKees Rocks was found shot to death outside of a home in Homestead, with another man injured.

Antoine Lee Williams Jr., 30, of Pittsburgh was fatally shot in what police are saying started as a domestic dispute. Charlotte R. Hill, 35, has been charged with criminal homicide.

Dillan Shearer, 15, of Wilmerding was found fatally shot in Wilmerding.

Dontae Hatcher, 33, was found fatally shot in a Munhall apartment. Raylon Williams, 16, has been charged as an adult with criminal homicide.

Nov. 22: Michael Dean

Michael Dean, 26, of McKees Rocks was found fatally shot in his Stowe home. Arrmon Hagans, 43, of Wilkinsburg has been charged with criminal homicide, and police are still looking for two other suspects as of early December.

Darryl M. Nelson, 35, of Wilkinsburg died from multiple gunshot wounds in a Wilkinsburg home. Darnell Green, 24, was arrested in December 2023 and questioned by Allegheny County Police.

Maria Moffitt, 49, of McKeesport was fatally shot in her home in McKeesport. Roy Steele, 58, of McKeesport was also found dead in the home in what’s believed to be a murder-suicide.

Dec. 3: Cole Kerns

Cole Kerns, 28, of East McKeesport died after being shot in an altercation at Sophie’s Saloon in Carrick. Corey Anthony Rall, 25, of Pittsburgh turned himself in and has been charged with criminal homicide.

Kristen B. Smith Jr., 40, of Green Tree died in an area hospital after being shot by a relative, Kevin Benjamin Smith, according to police, who believe it’s a murder-suicide incident.

Ryan Main, 23, of Clairton was found fatally shot in the street in Clairton.

Grant Maynard Gibeault, 25, of Pittsburgh was found fatally shot at a home in the city’s Arlington neighborhood.

Luis Mayahua Soto, 35, was fatally stabbed in an apparent domestic dispute in Pittsburgh’s East Allegheny neighborhood. Martin Lopez Hernandez, 33, of Pittsburgh has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide.

Lonnell Newkirk, 44, was fatally shot in a home in Carrick. Timothy Debold, 43, of Monroeville has been charged with homicide in the incident.
